The Living Room/ Hallway

Hello welcome to our Living room/Hallway. Take a look around…

February 8,  2014-

Our Living room was very white and washed out when we moved in. I knew I wanted color but did not want anything dark. After finding the perfect color at Home Depot it got a fresh coat of light blue paint. The paint color is by Behr it is called Blue Opal and is part of their white and light collection. I absolutely love this color. Here are some before and afters.

After Photo: (Still need to put in Allure flooring, 1×6 baseboards, board and batten, and remove the popcorn ceiling, as well as crown molding.)

I painted all the dark brown trim in the living room to have consistency throughout and to really brighten up the space. What a huge difference a little white paint can make.

We got new furniture. We found this sofa, love seat and ottoman at a local furniture store. It is by Ashley furniture and it is amazing. I really think the light color looks amazing with the paint I chose for the walls.

After some thought I decided to start tackling the interior doors… well I went with painting them then spray painting all the hardware oil rubbed bronze here is a before and after. I think it was a great change. It really seem to lighten up the hallway too.

The hallway with the trim painted and two of the doors completed. What do you think?

I finally got the coat closet painted. It was begging for a new paint job… the flat white paint and scuffed walls looked horrible. I took some paint I had in our garage and decided to use it instead of purchasing more. I went with Behr Modern Grey. Here are photos before/after.

Our stock pile closet was also an area that was needing some paint. While painting the coat closet I went ahead and painted this space as well. It made a huge difference and really freshened up the space. Take a look…

We just finished changing all the light switches and outlets to much more updated ones. The outlets are also tamper resistant which is awesome to have with children. What a difference these switches made. The old switches were cream color and again outdated the home. Putting a bright white switch really made a difference…Take a look.

This project was very easy to do with the right tools but it was time consuming as our home had a lot of light switches and outlets. But in the end it was so worth it now they all work and look wonderful!

I removed the popcorn ceiling texture in the hallway and painted the ceiling and walls. I continued the Behr Silver Cloud in the hall. We plan to do board and batten in the halls and get different light fixtures. Take a look at the progress so far.
